The lesson was planned according to grade level, and then the standards were identified. Next, we picked a story book to statify the standards and an activity using technology and statifying the standards.
We decided on a grade level and subject first. Then we looked at the Arizona State Standards for Language Arts. We chose Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day because Alexander was a strong character that we could use for the analysis. We create a standards-based lesson on Taskstream that met the Language Arts standards and also incorporated the use of technological resources.
