Prior knowledge was assessed by students ablility to follow along with the story, and knowledge of plot, theme, ect. It was assessed throughout the lesson.
We assessed the students prior knowledge by checking for their understanding of literary elements. We asked questions about the plot and the characters to make sure that they had the background knowledge to complete the assignment.
